-
What does CAF stand for?CAF stands for the China Affairs Forum. We were previously known as USCSSO.
-
How do you work to maintain objectivity and non-partisanship?We pride ourselves on having diverse perspectives, including from domestic and international students and many students who’ve spent significant time in China and related countries. This means our peer-review process extensively checks to make sure everything we publish includes a variety of reliable and accurate sources that are discussed with careful diction.
-
How do I get involved with CAF?There are two membership options: General member: Receive access to our exclusive Strategy Report weekly newsletter and be the first to receive invitations to our roundtable discussions, conferences, and events. A great way to learn more about China with content by students, for students. Become a general member by connecting with us on GW Engage and joining our mailing list. Contributor: Learn the behind-the-scenes skills needed to operate and contribute to an objective, non-partisan, and student-centered platform. You can conduct research, organize events, or partake in online content creation among many other opportunities. We ask contributors to spend about 1-3 hours a week working on CAF related work. Become a contributor by filling out the form below.

What if I want to contribute but can't make a firm time commitment? No problem! We hope you consider joining as a full-time contributor when you can make the commitment. If there's a topic on China affairs you are interested in learning about through an event or personal project, let us know by emailing chinaaffairsforumatgw@gmail.com. If you want to explore our other avenues of contribution that aren’t the weekly newsletter or research projects, then consider joining other teams like Social Media, Outreach and Operations. At CAF, we ensure that everyone has a role and is included in our semester activities!

What if I don't know enough about China to contribute? We're all learning! That's the best part about being a student-centered organization—not only do we learn from each other, but we learn together. Reading our research and newsletters or attending our events is also a great way to gain more knowledge.
